 Week of January 29-February 2

ELA:  We will use what we have learned about nonfiction writing and reading to complete a text dependent analysis.  We will also continue to work with main idea.

Math:  We will begin building our foundations for learning more about area.  We will have a quiz on lessons 1-4 on Friday, February 2.

Social Studies:  We will continue to learn about events of the American Revolution. We will have a quiz on the causes of the American Revolution on Wednesday, January 31.

Science:    We will wrap up our unit on rocks and minerals.  We will have a test on Thursday, 

February 1.

ELA:  We learned about main idea, breaking nonfiction into topics, subtopics, and details.  We also revised our table of contents (again) and began writing our nonfiction books.

Math:  We wrapped up our mini unit on time to the nearest minute.  We began Module 4

Social Studies:  We continued learning about the causes of the American Revolution.

Science:  We continued to learn about rocks and minerals.

Social Studies:  We began our unit on the American Revolution.  Ask your child about our tax activity.  They began learning about the causes of the American Revolution.

Science:  We continued learning about rocks and minerals.

ELA:  We will work with main idea. We will also continue with our nonfiction books. We will begin writing our chapters next week!  We will have quiz on theme on Wednesday.  

Math:  We will be working with time.  We will be reading clocks to the nearest minute as well as determining elapsed time.

Social Studies:   We will be learning about causes of the American Revolution.

Science:  We will learn about the three types of rocks:  igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary.

ELA:  We will continue learning about theme.  Students will work on planning their nonfiction writing.  Students will have a test on Castle on Viola Street on Thursday, January 11.
