Amazing Me Projects

Amazing Me Day
Mark your calendars for the
Lake Carolina Upper Campus Amazing Me Day!

We will be celebrating how amazing our students are on
October 13, 2016!

What is Amazing Me Day?
  • Students complete a project at home about THEMSELVES!
  • The project can be on (almost) ANYTHING...anything that makes the student feel amazing can be presented.
  • Some ideas to consider are students’ passions, hobbies, interests, families, cultures, or strengths.
  • The project should be completed in the form of a poster or display board.
  • We encourage parents to work with students to create the display, but please allow the student to take ownership.
  • Every child will have opportunities to share their display and see the work of other students throughout the school.
  • While this project is not graded, the purpose is for students to show pride in their work and display what makes them amazing!
  • This is their chance to shine!

Amazing Me Day Display Specifications:
  • The topics for Amazing Me Day are endless!  Think about what makes your child feel amazing!
  • Displays should be no bigger than a 36” x 48” tri-fold board.
  • Due to student allergies, animals and food may not be brought in as part of the display.
  • Projects should be brought in the morning of October 13th and taken home that afternoon.
  • Parents are welcome and encouraged to assist with drop-off and pick-up of projects.
  • Here is a link to a presentation with sample projects:  goo.gl/5sTUYH
  • Please have your student share his or her topic with the homeroom teacher.
  • Please make sure your child has selected an appropriate topic to display.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Shannan Bright. sbright@richland2.org

  • Displays will be shared as a part of a Gallery Walk which is an informal way for students to talk about their projects.
  • Parents are welcome to come and take part in the Gallery Walk.
  • Amazing Me Day Gallery Walks will be Thursday. October 13, a half-day, between 9:30-11:00 (schedules are forthcoming).
