Looking Ahead Week of September 24
- ELA: We will continue working with characterization, narrative elements, and visualization while reading fiction. We will have a test on First Day Jitters on Tuesday. (This will be an open book test.) We will also continue our study of prefixes and adjectives. We will continue to polish our independent reading and writing stamina.
- Math: We will continue learning about the relationship between multiplication and division with special emphasis on the commutative and distributive properties. Please start reviewing at home the zero times tables. **Often, students add instead of using the rule of any number times zero is zero. This is a great time of year to build and solidify this foundation. Fluency (our target) occurs when students automatically can recall a fact in math within 10-15 seconds.
- Social Studies: We will begin learning about the physical regions of South Carolina.
- Science: We will wrap up our learning about the grasslands. We will have a grasslands quiz on Thursday.
